A blow struck for a juster society. Little by little we will bring about the revolution. We must be prepared to live our belief, though only at reasonable cost. We must fight with the pen not only in the press, but also in the solicitor’s office. Yes, we too must be prepared to become, ourselves, property owners, though only on a small or co-operative scale.
All the photos on the web are horrible, here’re the least horrible (first a look to the left as you walk to the end of the hall, then it’s the hall, seen in the window of the hall cupboard, which itself is not as horrible as it looks)
Ah, hurrah. Monday term starts, I get the keys to the flat…need to buy a washing machine, a bicycle, a kettle … I would enjoy all this more were it all happening two weeks ago and not in the last week of the vac, but there we go.
I’d like to thank my parents, St Joseph, all me chums wot prayed a bit and counselled me over the phone/email/gmail chat, and the agent who put up with my utter and surprising vagueness. I never did get the engineer in to look at the building. Hey, no-one else does it here unless they are buying a whole crumbling pre-pre-war tenement …

Hooray! Congrats! (I am utterly confused as to who is Berenike and who is Boeciana now, but never mind that.) Hooray!

She’s Boeciana, I’m Berenike. Obviously. (man, some people, supposedly graduate students, and still fick as mince …)

Congratulations! O, could you please, please have a word with St. Joseph on my behalf, too? I really start getting rather sick of the feeling of spending one third of my time in a hotel room (comfortable as it is) and am sooo much wishing for an own flat/room here in the Blessed Land. Also it gets VERY cold and frightening cycling up 2 km through utter and absolute darkness and loneliness in the evenings…

Notburga! Have you moved to Israel?

O.K. ‘Blessed Land’ rather than Blessed Land then. (I suppose it would not be that freezing cold in Israel either at this time of the year, would it?)

Notburga, my dear – make a novena of the litany.
September 28, 2007 at 6:51 pm
Er, yes, I know… When I first prayed that novena, three years ago (for finding a job) the idea popped up in my head, just while I was praying, that I might also start to look for a flat (which I had attended to do only three month ofter). Two days later, I had my room I’m presently living in.
