A blow struck for a juster society. Little by little we will bring about the revolution. We must be prepared to live our belief, though only at reasonable cost. We must fight with the pen not only in the press, but also in the solicitor’s office. Yes, we too must be prepared to become, ourselves, property owners, though only on a small or co-operative scale.

 Ah, hurrah. Monday term starts, I get the keys to the flat…need to buy a washing machine, a bicycle, a kettle … I would enjoy all this more were it all happening two weeks ago and not in the last week of the vac, but there we go.

I’d like to thank my parents, St Joseph, all me chums wot prayed a bit and counselled me over the phone/email/gmail chat, and the agent who put up with my utter and surprising vagueness. I never did get the engineer in to look at the building. Hey, no-one else does it here unless they are buying a whole crumbling pre-pre-war tenement …
